We were given a brief of designing and making a white tutu. This involved using a dancer from the Dimensions Dance Company, as we would have to get used to measuring and fitting people we didn’t know.
The tutu we made was taught by Amanda Hall from the Royal Opera House. She showed us how to draft the bodice block and the panty to suit the measurements of our chosen dancer. Amanda also showed us how to create the tutu skirt from start to finish, including how to insert the hoop and how to string the tutu correctly.
